India : Eco fabrics, rage of fashion designers

Fashion in India is going to be greener as more people showing concern about ecological balance.

Fashionistas recently are going green by wearing eco-friendly outfits. People now a day are finding interest in wearing clothing made of natural fabrics.

Designers are using fabrics made from soy, bamboo and hemp which are biodegradable and made without chemical additives such as petroleum, pesticides or insecticides.

Renowned designers like Deepika Govind and Ritu Kumar understand the call of time.

Deepika in most of her fashion outfits uses corn, bamboo or variations of silk fibres. She has blended khadi yarn with tencel transformed traditional khadi into stronger, drapy, more fluid and versatile which can retain colour in a better manner. This attempt has provided khadi a fashion platform and infused a new life in to the sniffing fabric.

Fashion designer Ritu Kumar is also using eco friendly fabrics and vegetable dyes in her creation.

Designers, who showcased their creations in latest fashion weeks have shown more interest in eco fashion.
